On the 18th and 19th of September 2023, NETHATE was fortunate enough to be hosted by the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation for a two-day workshop. The Glencree Centre has been active since 1974 and continues to support the prevention and transformation of political and inter-communal conflict and build peaceful, inclusive societies. During the two days, the ESRs heard from various experts and activists on a range of topics including a history of the Troubles, approaches and lessons learnt in peace building and reconciliation as well as critical participatory action research. Further, two panel discussions were held to provide critical context and analysis on the current Direct Provision system in Ireland.
